OK I was just browsing through the code examples which leads to more questions: Regarding the usb over ethernet example what is FemptoIP/TCP/UDP etc. Is this something contrived pourely for the usb over ethernet example or is this an attempt to create a smaller xmos TCP/IP lib? And whats with the 'burn' threads is this just to test with a given number of threads or am I missing something? For the Vcom does it require a minimum of 4 threads and are their any limits regarding what happens in any other threads that one might add?

Could any of these examples be run on the Xtag or an L1 device?

My name is Mika Rinskoi and I work at Planmeca in Finland. We make X-ray machines and sensors for dentists. I work with an intraoral x-ray sensors for dentists. We have this intraoral sensor control box that is connected to PC via USB. We use usbser.sys provided by MS and we have written custom INF-file to make it load. We have signed INF-file with ”Symantec Code Signing Certificate for Microsoft Authenticode” by making a cat file and signed it. The inf and cat files we have placed to Windows/inf folder so that when USB control box has been connected for the first time, OS can found corresponding INF file and know to load usbser.sys driver for this device.

This has worked well previously up until Windows8. With the same procedure, when the USB control box is connected to Windows8 PC for the first time, the USB device is left as ”Unknown device”. OS does not install usbser.sys driver as it should. Unknown device prompts: ”The drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)”. When I press ”Update drivers” and select automatic search for suitable driver, OS finds correct INF and installs device as it should.

Device is now recognized and it works OK. How can I make driver load automatically as it is done with older Windows? Thanks, Mika Rinskoi.
